SUMMER 2010 UPDATE
New data, new search options, new tutorials.
The Center for Urban Research at the CUNY Graduate Center has made some important enhancements
to the OASIS interactive maps. Here are some highlights:
- The latest community garden are mapped, along with a tutorial on how to access this information.
- Other data has been updated, including:
- New York City subway, bus, and bike routes,
- parks & other open spaces as well as zoning districts, scenic districts, and historic houses, and
- historic maps of Manhattan have been added, in partnership with the NY Public Library.
- There are still many other features you can display on the map (environmental stewardship turfs,
views of Mannahatta circa 1609, land use patterns, and pollution concerns such as
"combined sewer outfall" locations, and more).
- The UrbanOmnibus previewed some of the highlights in Fall 2009.
If you manage a website that provides direct links to community gardens or other
locations on OASIS, it's easy to update your
links.
For a short period of time, we'll still provide
access to the "old" maps.
